At ComTrade, we believe that our responsibility to the environment extends beyond legal and regulatory requirements. Therefore, we are committed to reduce negative environmental impact of our activities, and continually improve our environmental performance, as an integral and fundamental part of our business strategy and operating methods.

Main goals of ComTrade related to our Environmental Policy are:

  • To ensure that all relevant Environmental Legislations and Regulations are applied,
  • To operate the Business in an environmentally sensitive manner,
  • To provide a safe and healthy workplace for all our employees,
  • To raise awareness of environmental issues within our company , in order to enable inclusion of all our employees in the implementation of our Environmental Policy,
  • To purchase, produce, sell and resell environmentally friendly products and materials,
  • To continually improve energy efficiency of our operations,
  • To Re-Use or Recycle Waste when possible.

All our employees are part of this continuous process with a strong belief that we will fulfill our duty towards future generations.

For many years back we have informally strived, using various methods, to reduce the impact of our business activities on the environment in which we work and live. Regardless of the fact that we, as a software development company, mainly do not have a big impact on environment, we are aware of our obligation that even the smallest impact should be minimized. That is why, in the mid of 2011 our Company started with Environmental initiative in order to responsibly and professionally deal with environmental issues.

Within the Environmental Management System that we will establish in the upcoming period, as well as Environmental affairs strategy, we are planning to conduct our activities in compliance with ISO 14001 standard, which is based on the PDCA methodology. In accordance with the mentioned standard, we are planning to improve our performance in the part of reducing our environmental impact every year and to publicly present all related information.

Also, as mentioned, one of the main goals of our Environmental Policy is to ensure that all relevant Environmental Legislations and Regulations are applied and fulfilled. We can proudly state that, since our establishment in 1990, till today, we have not been fined or penalized for breaching environmental laws in 12 countries in which we are running our business operations.

We are determined to continue with running our business operations in an environmentally sensitive manner in the future – in order to meet our legal obligations, but primarily to fulfill our duty towards the future generations.

Waste Management & Recycling Policy

„To Re-Use or Recycle Waste when possible” is one of the main goals within our Environmental Policy.

As a company that operates in EU, ComTrade is obliged to follow EU directives and locally related legislation regarding collecting, sorting and managing all types of waste (paper, plastic, glass, metal…). In addition, „To Re-Use or Recycle Waste when possible„ is one of the main goals within our Environmental Policy. In accordance with this objective, we have appointed a number of procedures that will ensure maximum effects in this area:

  1. All paper that we use and dispose in our day-to-day activities is collected in special paper boxes which are placed on every department and every floor in all our premises.
  2. Old Batteries are separately collected and regularly submitted to local WEEE collectors.
  3. Other WEEE is managed in cooperation with local waste collectors and processors. Every ComTrade company branch selected local WEEE collection partner in the operating country.
  4. Whenever possible, ComTrade includes „Green clause“ in contracts for reselling hardware. With effectiveness of this clause ComTrade takes responsibility not only to provide new, but also to take out the old equipment. This way, ComTrade enables timely management of WEEE generated by our clients, and prevents accumulation of WEEE in client’s premises.
  5. All types of Waste collected from our premises can only be transported by authorized persons or Service Providers.

We are committed to continue with improvement of all mentioned procedures, and all related Waste Management and Recycling regulations including the promotion of sustainable environmental behavior amongst all our employees.
