EdIT 09 – Another success story finds its happy ending

Finally, everything is finished. Summer school of programming EdIT 09, organized in record breaking 6 locations in 3 different countries this year (Ljubljana, Maribor, Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Belgrade and Novi Sad) is successfully brought to its end, while achieved results give us a lot of reasons for optimism regarding the future of our company. Several topics were covered, with the factor connecting all the different groups being high level of participant interest and motivation.

This year, school attracted large number of young talents who already built a solid foundation in the field of program code development. In touch with experienced programmers from Comtrade System Integration, who were the lecturers in the EdIT summer school, „young lions“ had a chance to ask some tough questions, learn numerous „tricks of the trade“ and feel the atmosphere of a serious business IT surroundings which will become a standard environment for the most of them during the course of their careers. In a very productive exchange of ideas and opinions, participants gathered large amount of useful information about their future vocation and came one step closer to professional software development.

31st of July, the last day of EdIT 09 in Belgrade, was reserved for the closing ceremony, but also for participant presentations about finished projects. Since the participants were able to learn the importance and inevitability of cooperation between the team members and realization of the projects within the framework of team environment, awards were given to the best team and best individual of EdIT 09.

The winning „KRIStal“ team was consisted of: Darko Zelić, Vojin Katić, Kristina Smiljković, Aleksandar Jovanović and Aleksandar Vasiljević, while the best individual was Siniša Nedeljković from the „CRANG“ team.

Still, competitive spirit didn’t jeopardize friendship and good personal relations among the participants which developed during the shared lectures in EdIT summer school. After all the activities for the first week were completed, the entire crew went for a joint socializing session to Majik restaurant, where the mood was completely informal and very optimistic.

Summer school for young programmers left a visible trace in the IT circles throughout the region and once again set ComTrade apart as a company dedicated to its own future as well as the futures of others. EdIT 09 was an ambitious undertaking that, besides obvious results related to the goals of the school itself, brought about an important evidence of organizational capacities of our integrated software business unit Comtrade System Integration.

Of course, all this wasn’t too easy and wouldn’t be possible at all without great coordination among team members from different countries. Participants, lecturers, demonstrators and organizers contributed their patience, engagement and selfless support in order to enable EdIT 09 to reach the high level of standards that any ComTrade event must respect.

We are looking forward to the next year and EdIT 2010 school of programming.
