Under Connect2Ideas, HERMES SoftLab presented opportunities for cooperation with small and medium sized enterprises

Ljubljana, 9/26/2007 – Under the European Connect2Ideas project, Hermes Softlab consucted a workshop entitled “HERMES SoftLab development trends and opportunities for cooperation with small and medium sized enterprises”. At the workshop HERMES SoftLab representatives presented the Group’s long term strategy and cooperation opportunities for small and medium sized enterprises from Slovenia.

The purpose of the Connect2Ideas project is to stimulate cooperation between businesses and to enable small and medium sized enterprises to access regional and European multinational companies. The international project is coordinated by the Regional Technology Centre North from Great Britain and is set to be implemented by project partners Technology Park Ljubljana, Municipality of Ljubljana, Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum from Germany and Meta Group from Italy.

The following businesses are involved in the Connect2Ideas project in Slovenia: HERMES SoftLab, Gorenje, EMO Orodjarna and Trimo.

Gregor Smrekar, member of the Management Board, HERMES Softlab: “The Connnect2Ideac project has seen HERMES Softlab promote opportunities for cooperation with our company. The opportunities, especially for technological businesses, span over various fields of activity. Today we presented the Slovene companies which were present at the workshop with the opportunities of cooperation in subsupply, opportunities for cooperation in managing development projects, cooperation with experts with specialized and industry knowledge and the opportunities of using pre-developed components, platforms and licenses we then offer to our clients. HERMES SoftLab has a developed strategy in shaping a partner network of subsuppliers, which at the moment includes over 40 Slovene businesses which conform to our criteria and we actively cooperate with 15 technology-based businesses.”

The following international corporations are involved in the Connect2Ideas project: Nokia, Kodak, Procter & Gamble, Interpon (Akzo Nobel), Amec, Dow Corning, Reckitt Benckiser, Syngenta, Victrex International, Yet2.com, Bosch, Daimler Chrysler, FESTO, Philips, Novamont Thermopastics, Alcantara, Meraklon – Polypropylene fibres.
