Comtrade Marks International Day of Charity

This year, Comtrade marked the International Day of Charity through a number of fundraising activities which took place across six business locations: Banja Luka, Belgrade, Kragujevac, Ljubljana, Maribor and Sarajevo.

From supporting children in need to activities aimed at promoting social integration of refugees, the International Day of Charity was an opportunity to show our commitment to giving back to the local communities.

In Sarajevo, Comtrade employees collected funds to purchase new kitchen equipment for the Pazaric Institute for Children and Youth Protection. In Banja Luka, we donated clothes and daily essentials to the local Red Cross.

Our colleagues in Kragujevac raised money to buy fruit, snacks and sweets for 150 children who use the local National Kitchen.

In Belgrade, we teamed up with our ITS School to collect donations of warm clothing, footwear, blankets and socks, as well as hygiene products, school supplies and toys for two children’s homes caring for 260 children rescued from the streets.

The football games against refugees in Ljubljana and Maribor had to be postponed due to bad weather and have been rescheduled for next week.

The International Charity Day is celebrated every year on the 5th of September and serves to promote charitable efforts to eradicate poverty worldwide.

Comtrade recognizes the importance of having a positive impact on the communities where we live and work. In line with that, we actively encourage our employees to support charitable causes through donations and volunteer work, and help us make the world a better place for everyone.
