HERMES SoftLab sponsor of 1st Junior Balkan Olympiad in Informatics

Belgrade, 20 July 2007 – HERMES SoftLab is participating as a sponsor at the first Junior Balkan Olympiad in Informatics that is taking place in Belgrade between July 18th and 23rd.

The competition organized by Mathematical Society of Serbia and High School for computing is organized by the first time with the primer goal of identifying computing talent among young students aged 15,5 and younger, residents of Balkan countries. Students will challenge their knowledge in algorithms in programming languages C, C++ and Pascal.

Vladan Atanasijević, director of HERMES SoftLab Serbia: “HERMES SoftLab is a traditional sponsor of students’ events aiming at broadening the knowledge fields of computing and programming skills. We feel it is important to identify individuals with high potential and try to help to develop them in the best possible way, and this is just what the purpose of this competition is.”

Besides sponsoring educational IT events, HERMES SoftLab is also organizing its own summer school of computing, which is this year taking place on six locations in four different countries across the Adriatic region and hosting almost 100 participants.
