Our Impact

Computers with superpowers

By joining SLING, we gained access to EU’s supercomputers and AI

In early January 2017, Comtrade joined SLING – Slovenian National Grid Initiative, which manages the Slovenian supercomputer network.

This network provides access to cluster-based Slovenian and international computing and storage capacities. Access to these resources is granted to researchers in universities, research institutions and industrial development centers.

Its purpose is to provide significant computing capacities to those researchers who need to run compute-intensive algorithms and massively parallel algorithms (HPC/supercomputing) and use distributed processing of large numbers of tasks across several clusters (compute grid, HTC/high throughput computing) and big data processing.

Through this partnership, we are able to gain access to the European Grid Infrastructure, i.e. European supercomputers, for research in the field of Artificial Intelligence, with the focus on Neural Network Deep Learning.

These research activities are coordinated and lead by the Comtrade Research Group (CTRG), active since 1996.
