HERMES SoftLab announces a new application management product – SPI for Terminal Server − at HP Software Forum 2006

June 22, 2006 – HP Software Forum, Miami, Florida, USA: HERMES SoftLab has today announced SMART Plug-in (SPI) for Microsoft Terminal Server, a thin-client management product on an HP OpenView Operations platform.

The new SPI provides proactive management of Terminal Server environments and is the latest addition in a series of ‘best-in-class’ management solutions from HERMES SoftLab. The Terminal Server SPI provides real end-to-end management for applications deployed with Terminal Servers, reducing risk and helping realize full application potential.

Peter Testen, CEO of HERMES SoftLab said: “SPI for Microsoft Terminal Server is a natural extension of our HERMES SoftLab management solutions for server based computing environments. Complementing the SPI for Citrix, the Terminal Server SPI delivers essential management capability for thin-client deployments − providing non-stop availability and scalability. As a result, users will see an immediate impact on business service levels across all elements of the application delivery chain. This product helps organizations deliver on the promise of lower total cost of ownership (TCO) with server-based computing.”

SPI for Terminal Server is compatible with Microsoft Terminal Server / License Server running on Windows 2000/2003 Server family, HP OV Operations for Windows 7.21/7.50, HP OV Operations for Unix 7.1x/8.1x/8.20, HP OV Reporter 3.5/3.6, and HP OV Performance Manager 5.0/6.0.
HERMES SoftLab product sales across the board continued to gather momentum in the first two quarters of 2006. Documentum SPI − a recent addition to the product range − contributed to this sales growth after being enthusiastically welcomed by customers. New wins in 2006 include blue-chip clients from various sectors, including: financial services, the legal community, healthcare, retail, entertainment, telecoms, logistics and transportation, energy and utility providers, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, high-tech, automotive and government agencies worldwide. Notably, Siebel SPI has been incorporated into some of the largest Siebel projects around the world.

HERMES SoftLab’s SPI for Terminal Server, SPI for Documentum, along with SPI for Citrix and SPI for Siebel, is available through resellers worldwide and directly from HERMES SoftLab’s offices throughout North America and Europe.
